Time to Listen, Because Time Doesn't Heal Old Wounds.

Time to listen. No, not with words, but within the self. Within the subconsious. If it is true that what triggers us is the lesson to be learned. Then it must also be true that the trigger can heal us.

The caveat is, we must admit to ourselves that they are triggers and not that someone else is wrong or put blame on something else as a scapegoat.

Three words, feel, deal and heal.

The first step is to understand the difference between “right and wrong” vs. “healthy and unhealthy”. The shift to the latter is monumental. This eliminates blame and ego and you are left feeling emotional pain. This is where we are truthful with our developed coping mechanisms and habits that were formed in order to temporarily deal with the pain. Using the available modalities to dig deep and listen to ones memories, feeling the pain, allowing them to surface, to allow oneself on the path to no judgement.

Second, we must find ways to deal. Just like physical pain can be a 10 on a scale from 1-10, so can emotional pain. And by the way, this emotional pain can creep into the physical body showing up as illness, disease or injury. In the transformation work, there are straightforward guidelines to dealing. No suppression, no stagnation, words I often particularly say in my Yin Yoga classes. The release of these past emotional traumas, unleashes a world of discovery. A world of self intelligence, like getting a PhD in you. And by the way, self intelligence is one area of our lives that is certainly typically neglected.

Experts tell me that less than 1% of the population is close to being healed. They also tell me that .01% of the population has completed an Ironman. But just this weekend, the very first person with Down Syndrome completed Ironman. The thought is almost impossible. This is a race that has been recognized as the ultimate endurance challenge, 2.4 mile swim, then a 112 miles on the bike followed by the run marathon (26.2 miles) all in one shot! The 7 + months of training alone (I know) is a feat in itself. So we must not be discouraged. We must not look to the masses for answers. We have to take a hard look within ourselves and decide whether we want to continue being lost or take the hard steps to be found. Time can only heal if we use that time wisely, towards perhaps one of the most important race of our lives.
